Rahnefeld Max won the Répcelaki-tó Cup!
This weekend we held the final round of the youth category of the Vasi Vizek Best Sportfishing competition series, the Vasi Vizeken Garbolino-Tacklebait Répcelaki-tó Cup. We can safely say that it was a worthy finale to this year's series.
11 young anglers registered for Saturday's competition, 10 of whom showed up at the venue. Attila Kádi, president of the Répcelaki HE and the main organizer of the competition, greeted the competitors and their parents, then introduced the professional fishing guard Tamás Káracsonyi and the social fish guard Zoltán Töreki, who were assisting in the organization. After the technical meeting, the draw began in gloomy, drizzling weather, which caused great excitement among the children. Everyone was curious to see who would be in the same sector as whom.

The competition was organized in two sectors of five. Both were very evenly matched, as the young people coming from many parts of the county were extremely prepared.
The competition started at 9:30, and already on the first cast, the rod tips bent in three places, almost throwing the bait into the fish's mouth. Everywhere you looked, there was someone who was tiring out a fish.

Almost everywhere, feeder rods played the main role. Method baskets were filled with pellets, using various Pop-Up baits, but sweet corn also yielded a lot of fish. The more experienced competitors measured the distance and fished very precisely, which brought their results.

The weather was also favorable for the fish, as all competitors were able to catch fish well. The grass carp were also in good shape, and several nice specimens were caught in addition to the many carp and bream. The catches were also enriched by several carp weighing around six kilograms.
The thick clouds and the stormy wind persisted until the end of the competition, but fortunately the program ended without rain. The four-hour competition ended at 1:30 PM, and then the weighing began, which the young people followed with great interest. In many places, two or three bags of fish had to be weighed due to the 20-kilogram bag limit.

After the evaluation of the catches, the long-awaited announcement of the results and the presentation of the awards followed.
The order of the first three was as follows:

🥇 Rahnefeld Max - 44,880 g

🥈 Buthi Benjamin - 41,920 g

🥉 Máthé Zalán - 33 150 g
Today, the 10 young anglers caught a total of 222,820 grams of fish! The competitors thus caught an average of just over 22 kilograms of fish.
The detailed results can be viewed here.
The numbers speak for themselves, but today was about much more than that. There were some really nice catches, and the kids showed how skilled and determined they are. You could feel the excitement all along the waterfront, that this was a slightly different competition.
After all, today they were not only fishing for the individual round rankings. The fate of the entire annual championship also depended on these four hours. This brought even more excitement to the competition, where they could count and hope right up until the final weigh-in.
And it is a special joy for us that we were able to see all this on Lake Répcelaki!

A few years ago, this lake was practically just a dream. Today, it is fantastic to see that thanks to the local association's youth education, the large number of volunteers, and the many social works, Lake Répcelaki has now become one of the important venues for fishing in Vásárlón.
A place where not only can you catch beautiful fish, but also where young anglers can compete, learn, develop and have fantastic experiences.
Thanks to everyone who contributed even a little to this!

We would like to thank the organizers, Attila Kádi, Zoltán Töreki and Tamás Karácsonyi for their hard work all day long, the helpers for their organization, the parents for their support, and the young competitors for their enthusiasm and perseverance in competing. Special thanks to Répce TV for visiting and reporting on the event!
Congratulations to all the participants! It was great to see this enthusiastic, dedicated young group and the beautiful fishing achievements they demonstrated.
The preliminary overall results of the youth category of the Vasi Vizek Best Sport Angler 2026 will be published soon! The entire championship was decided today, and only the results announcement in Vaskerestes in December remains.
BUT there is no stopping! On September 19th, we are waiting for all young anglers at the next competition, the Vas County Youth Championship, where valuable prizes, beautiful trophies and, of course, the county championship title await the competitors!
