Last year we managed to run all our planned competitions taking into account the appropriate health standards. Last year, our Association was the main or co-organizer of 15-20 events in the field of competitive sports. Our competition calendar has been completed for this year, this time there will be plenty of opportunities for the pecs to compete.

Our county competition series will start in early April

The excellent partnership previously established with TackleBait Fishing Shop and Pet Food Trading and Garbolino Wholesale will be further strengthened in 2022-2023, focusing on supporting the county’s competitive sports programs. Garbolino - TackleBait is welcomed as the new sponsor of the "Iron Sports Best Fishing Angle" competition, which will be held for the thirteenth time this year.

Thanks to the cooperation, the anglers who win a place in our competitions will also receive valuable shopping vouchers and gifts in addition to the souvenirs. The main sponsor of the Association's programs for youth and youth and disabled anglers will be theDecathlon Szombathely Sports Store in 2022, which has been significantly supporting the Association's fishing community events for years.

Participation in our county fishing competitions is still free, you only need to have a valid state and regional ticket. However, anglers intending to start in the category of competitors must obtain a competitor's license in accordance with the requirements of MOHOSZ.

Professional anglers can compete according to national regulations, while hobby anglers are subject to more permissive rules. The express goal of the hobby category is to get as many anglers as possible to try racing in a friendly setting. In the hobby category, both floating and bottom methods are allowed. In the competitor category, fishing is only possible with the float method.

There will be a change in the announcement of the competition series, so that the absolute extreme places in each competitor category will be highlighted. Anglers drawn to the outposts will no longer be able to sit in the outskirts of the rest of the series, which is intended to equalize the odds. An exception to this rule will be the two-round County Team Championship, as this is also the County Individual Championship, in which the draw was held in a controlled manner. Also a related innovation is that there is no need to show a youth competitor to teams this year. Regardless of age or gender, 4 anglers can form a team. Two member associations can form a joint team, but a maximum of 2 teams can start each association.

Several clauses specifically designed to protect fish have been formulated in accordance with the requirements of national competition regulations, which we would like to require at our county events as well.

In feeder races, up to 1 single hook has been used on the rig so far, but an important change is that the hook must now be beardless. Not only is the factory hook accepted, but it can also be pegged with a properly depressed beard hook, but this must be appropriate at the discretion of the Organizing Committee during the pre- and inter-competition inspections.

In the competitions at Lake Abért, we want to pay special attention to the integrity of the large fish in the lake, so in the competitions held here, all competitors will be obliged to place 2 fish bags in the water at the beginning of the competition. No more than 20 kg of fish will be stored in a fish tank. If the competitor's catch reaches 20 kg, he must also use a second fish carrier. If the quantity of fish in a bag exceeds the required maximum of 20 kg, catches above the specified limit shall be considered invalid.

Another measure to protect fish is that the use of carp mattresses in the hobby category will be mandatory in all locations.

Anglers who have obtained their license in one of the member associations of the Association and enter the Iron Waters Cups announced by the Association will automatically participate in the XIII. "Best Sport Fishing in Iron Waters", which includes the following competitions in 2022:

In previous years, we traditionally launched our series on May 01 in Kerkafalva. However, after much deliberation, we have decided this year’s opening round will be in Gersekarat on April 10, 2022. We are confident that we will be able to have a richer competition in early spring than at the usual summer times.

Compared to last year's competition, there will also be a change of location, this time those starting in the hobby category will be able to collect points on Lake Magyarszecsődi instead of Lake Püspökmolnári.

A minimum of 3 rounds per category must be entered in order for the result of the sport fisherman to be evaluated in the competition series. Anyone can start in the competition series, but only the results of the members in the member organizations of the Vas County Fishermen's Association will be included in the overall evaluation.

In addition to adults, we definitely count on child and youth anglers. In each competition, there will also be a separate prize for those starting in the hobby youth category up to the age of 18.

We are announcing the County Individual Reconstruction Championship in 2022, the one-day competition will be held in parallel with the County Team Championship on May 21 on Lake Abért. Competitors of junior age (U25) who are members of an association of the Vas County Fishermen's Association can start in the junior championship. Those of both sexes in the U25 age group who have not reached the age of 25 by 31 December of the year preceding the tournament may participate.

On June 19, we will hold the county Youth Fishing Fight on Lake Rábasömjen. The event will once again take place within the framework of the MOHOSZ Fisherman's Youth Education and Training Program. In addition to the souvenirs, the young people who won the podium in the competition can get rich Decathlon gifts, and the first three winners of the competition can take part in the final of the 2022 MOHOSZ National Fishing Competition free of charge (accommodation, meals).

The end-of-season winners of the categories will win a trophy and the title of “Best Sport Angler in Iron Waters 2022.” In addition, the first place winners will receive an annual regional ticket valid for 2023 for the fishing waters managed by the Association, as well as other valuable gifts.

The competition calendar and the detailed announcement of the competitions are already available in advance as an appendix to this news, but the registration interface for the competitions can be found on the website of our Association from 09.00 on March 9, 2022 under the menu item of events. As last year, this year the entry interface was created separately for those starting in the hobby (adult, youth) and competitor categories.
