New Toyota Hiluxes on fish guard duty
On Monday, Toyota Central Europe – Hungary Kft.’s Budaörs site hosted another large-scale renewal of the Hungarian National Fishing Association’s (MOHOSZ) fishing organization vehicle fleet. The event saw a ceremonial handover of the new service off-road vehicles supporting fish protection, which were delivered to the fishing organizations as part of the sixth procurement phase. This time, a total of 19 brand-new Toyota Hilux vehicles were put into service at 16 fishing organizations.

The Vas County Association of Sport Fishing Associations also successfully applied for the HEFFA-2025 program, thus the Association's entire fish guard vehicle fleet was renewed. The development was implemented with the support of MOHOSZ, without adversely affecting fishing or other operating resources, as the revenues from the sale of previously used Hiluxes are expected to fully cover the cost of the application. Moreover, the new, modern vehicle fleet, with its lower maintenance costs, will have a positive impact on the economical operation of fish guarding in the coming years.

MOHOSZ has been consistently building the unified fishing organization machinery and equipment park since 2017, with the aim of creating a system that can be operated economically, sustainably and efficiently. The current project is the sixth procurement phase and the fifth time that the fish guards have received flatbed off-road vehicles.
The total value of the purchase involving the Vasi association was HUF 86,537,800, for which MOHOSZ provided 70% support (HUF 59,575,700) to the fishing organization. The cars were delivered to the end users under a multi-year support agreement, and ownership can take place at the end of the cycle or in a new program.
The vehicle handover was attended by Miklós Seregi, president, and Norbert Puskás, executive president, representing the Vas County Association of Sport Fishing Associations, who wished their colleagues successful fish guarding work and accident-free service.

The new Hiluxes, awarded through a public procurement procedure, are equipped with the most modern safety and off-road systems, a bed liner, a towbar and a reversing radar to assist the fish guards in their daily work.
We thank the MOHOSZ Presidency for their support, which further strengthens the protection of the waters of Vas County and further improves the working conditions of fish keepers.
