Good Easter news for carp and catfish anglers!
We are pleased to inform our fellow anglers who have purchased a territorial ticket for the Vas waters of our Association that, at the request of our Association, based on the decision of the Vas County Fisheries Authority VA/AF-FO/00809-5/2025, the specific ban on carp fishing in 2025 (this year May 5th - May 30th) has been lifted on all county rivers, including the entire section of the Rába, the power plant canals, as well as Lake Hársas and Lake Vadása in Máriaújfalu!
With this change in the local fishing regulations, we aim to reduce the number of carp between 30 and 60 cm in our natural waters, primarily on the Rába River, and to benefit wild water carp fishing enthusiasts. (This regulation was already in place on other still waters.)
The specific prohibition period for catfish has been lifted in the still and flowing waters of Vas County managed by the Association (May 5th - June 13th this year), so based on the decision of our Association, and in accordance with the previously valid legal provisions, catfish longer than 100 cm can be caught and kept!
With this regulation, we would like to benefit our fellow athletes who are committed to catfishing, and to help protect the native fish population in the Vásárlón waters by catching large catfish.
The above ban liftings do not apply to C&R water areas (Lake Abért I-II, Lake Répcelak, Lake Pinkamindszenti, Lake Celldömölk Park, Lake Alpesi), our fishing waters in Zala County (According to the current local fishing regulations, there is no specific ban period for carp on Lake Kéhhatár in Kerkafalvi and Lake Kerka in Kerkaszentkirály), and the Döröskei reservoir managed by MOHOSZ.
We would like to draw the attention of T. Fishing friends to the lower (min. 30 cm) and upper (max. 60 cm) size restrictions, as well as the weekly (6 noble fish) and daily (2 carp) size restrictions set out in the law and the fishing regulations, which regulations differ from the National Fishing Regulations!
In addition, we ask all anglers to immediately and accurately record the carp they catch in their catch log, as a 0.5 kg discrepancy or failure to comply with the size restrictions may result in the territorial ticket being withheld!
