“Fishing is a kind of counterbalance to today’s fast-paced world.”
The January 7, 2026 issue of Vas Népe featured an interview with Norbert Puskás, the executive chairman of the Vas County Association of Sport Fishing Associations.
The conversation is organically connected to last year's year-end evaluation thoughts and continues the basic principles along which our Association has operated and developed in recent times. The interview not only looks back on the journey we have taken in the context of the state recognition we received in the fall, but also reinforces the view that for us, fishing is about community building, responsibility and long-term thinking in the interests of the waters, the environment and future generations. The conversation emphasizes respect for nature, the importance of patience and adaptation - all values that also determine the everyday work of our Association.
The interview also presents the executive chairman Norbert Puskás from a more personal perspective, what fishing gave him as a child, as a person and as a family man: a little bit of the past, a little bit of the present and many thoughts on why this community is still important to him and to many today. The full interview can be read here.
