Fishing and tourism developments at Lake Hársas

It took place at Lake Hársas TOP-1.2.1-15-VS1-2019-00009, which was won by the Vas County Association of Sport Fishing Associations in the autumn of last year. Handover of the second implementation site of the project “Fishing tourism developments in Vas county” at the end of May.

Lake Hársas, located in a picturesque natural environment belonging to the Natura 2000 network, is located on the outskirts of Szentgotthárd-Máriaújfalu, surrounded by wooded areas. The lake is fed by the Hársas stream. The areas affected by the renovation are areas already used for fishing and other tourist purposes, and the developments serve the more cultured appearance of the lake.

On the south-eastern side of the lake you will find the beach with the existing parking lot and various buildings, outdoor elements, to the north of it on the wooded section, along the promenade there are study trail stations. The biggest element of the renewal of Lake Hársas is the development of the electricity network, the installation of an 840-meter underground cable, the construction of a distribution cabinet and a consumption metering point, which is expected to be ready for technical handover within a few days. Within the framework of the social responsibility program of Jupinet Távközlési Kft., Windy internet access will also be established in the beach area.

The lake and its surroundings will be more comfortable with the new fireplace, benches and tables, and a log tree play element. There will be a fishing pier for the disabled, and the existing sandpit will have a sun sail as well as a tourist camera. The gross cost of the investments is HUF 39,262,000, which will be implemented with the support of the Hungarian Government and the European Union through the project of the Vas County Association of Sport Fishing Anglers.

Planned developments, which will be implemented within the project until the end of the summer:

• 12 shingle log bench tables for the study trail stations, on the west side of the lake, for the barrier-free fishing spot and in the memorial park
• 10 sets of bench-tables for the stations of the study trail, around the beach and for the barrier-free fishing place
• 30 backrest benches around the lake
• 1 bicycle storage with shingle roof for the beach entrance
• 1 log player with a slide stand with a swing next to the existing play equipment as an extension of the playground
• Placement of 11 wood-metal waste collectors in exchange for the existing ones
• 2 fishing piers for the disabled near the beach car park
• 1 fire stove
• Renovation of a 605 sqm long, 2 m wide promenade by the lake
• Renovation of a walkway running 225 m long and 1.5 m wide along an embankment 15 cm thick
• 1 pc min. 8 X 4 m sun sail for the existing sandpit with 8 X 10 cm acacia columns

In the framework of the tender, in addition to the Hársas Lake investment, further developments will be implemented along Lake Abért, Lake Celldömölk and Lake Vasvár. The aim of these investments and developments is also the demanding renewal of the waterfront nature environment, which ensures that everyone can spend their free time, as all three lakes can be visited freely.
