Fishermen and police officers checked together

Thanks to the cooperation agreement between our Association and the Vas County Police Headquarters, professional fish guards and police officers regularly work together to ensure the safety of the waters and compliance with the rules. During joint services, fish guards and police officers rely on each other's professional experience and perform their tasks in a coordinated manner.

Taking a short break from saving the fish population of the Gyöngyös stream, on Friday, August 21st, from the afternoon into the night, our professional fish guards, together with the patrols of the Szombathely, Sárvár and Körmendi Police Departments, divided into three main groups, visited the most visited fishing waters, supplemented by fish guard-police pairs conducting boat (raft) inspections on the Rába River.

The aim of the joint action was not only to expand the professional knowledge of professional fish guards and police patrols, but also to learn about the fishing waters in the patrols' area of responsibility and to coordinate fish guard and police inspections.

During the inspection, the fish guard-police pairs checked nearly 130 anglers in almost every water area in the county, returning to each fishing water several times.

During the joint operation, our fish guards issued several written warnings and ultimately took action and recorded reports in the cases of 4 people for unauthorized fishing and violation of the upper size limit.

During the joint inspection, the patrol pairs were most often received positively - even by night fishermen - as the majority of law-abiding fishermen understand that the protection of the waterfront and the waters, as well as the native fish population, is in our common interest.

In addition to the leadership of the Vas County Police Headquarters, we would like to thank the patrol officers on duty at the scene, as well as the WeKing Sports and Cultural Non-Profit Association, which provided a raft for the water inspection.
