Farewell to Károly Mészáros

The president of the Vassurányi Sport Fishing Association, Károly Mészáros, passed away on November 20, 2025, at the age of 62, after a long illness. We will cherish his memory forever!

Dear Karcsi!

It's hard to put the feeling into words, because it seems like it was only a few days ago when you called us in the spring of 2019 and asked for our Association's help in founding the Vassurányi Sport Fishing Association. Together we saw how a new, dynamic, cohesive community was born, of which you were the driving force, the leader, the sure point.

From the beginning, you worked with all your strength in your free time to make Vassurányi Lake a true home for anglers. Behind every development was your handiwork, your dedication, and the good intentions that always put the local community first.
After the long and bumpy journey of the TOP Plusz tourism application, the project finally got underway this fall, and just a few weeks ago at the autumn IB meeting we were talking about: take care of yourself, and we will inaugurate the new facilities together. I wish it had been like this… Unfortunately, life had other plans. But we will never forget: your dedication and your love for the fishing community will remain with us.

We will continue to pursue the goals we set together, worthy of your legacy. We will continue to work for the fishing community of Vassurány, as you dreamed.

Rest in peace, dear Karcsi!

The cremation of Károly Mészáros will take place on Friday, November 28, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the church in Vassurány, along with a funeral mass. His final resting place will be at a later date. Members of the Association and the Vassurány fishing community will pay tribute to Karcsi's memory with a flower.
The family requests that no wreaths, funeral bouquets, or personal expressions of condolences be sent.
