A trip into the world of fishing
Students with autism from the Váci Mihály Primary School and Primary Art School in Szombathely were able to participate in a special summer program: they visited the headquarters of the Vas County Association of Sport Fishing Associations, in Vaskeresztes.
In the first part of the program , Norbert Puskás, the association's executive chairman, welcomed the excursionists and presented the organization's diverse activities in an exciting, interactive presentation. The young people learned about the association's goals, the behind-the-scenes secrets of organizing county fishing, and the importance of nature and fish protection.
The theoretical introduction was followed by playful quizzes: the students were divided into two teams, filled out a fishing toto, and then measured their knowledge and skill in a giant fishing puzzle and a game of skill with a stuffed fish.
After a short lunch break, the children were able to participate in a practical session on the Alpine Lake in front of the center. Led by fishing rangers Balázs Szekeres and István Fördős, they learned the basics of bait mixing and rigging, and then they were able to fish with a pole. The experience was not short: carp, bream and dwarf catfish were also caught on the hook.
At the end of the day, the results of the impromptu fishing contest were announced, and all children received prizes: certificates, fishing publications, and sweets made the trip even more memorable.
Váci Mihály Elementary School is committed to the all-round development of children - the partial integration of students with autism is carried out in a development group, under the guidance of a special education teacher. The special image of the school is determined by fine arts and sports training, advanced language education and development tailored to individual needs. The goal of the teaching staff is to ensure that every student can develop their abilities in a loving, accepting environment.
