During the month of August, several fishing competitions will be held throughout the county. During the events, there will be full or partial fishing bans for anglers who have not registered for the competition. Please always check the current restrictions before you go fishing. In addition to our website, we will also publish the bans on our Facebook page and, if possible, on the lakeside notice boards.

The Vas County Association of Sport Fishing Associations has ordered a fishing ban at the following locations and times in August:

On August 2, 2025 (Saturday), from 00:00 to 14:00, there will be a general ban on fishing on Vasvári Lake I (first lake) due to the fishing competition for anglers not registered for the competition.

On Saturday, August 2, 2025, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., temporary restrictions will be in effect on the Szombathely Boating Lake due to the Dragon Boat Festival competitions. No restrictions will be imposed on the fishing lake, so fishing can continue there without interruption.

We ask fellow anglers not to interfere with any preparation training sessions on the given shore sections with their fishing activities on the day before the competition (Friday, August 1st)!

Between August 4, 2025 (Monday) and August 8, 2025 (Friday), a general fishing ban will be in effect at the Vaskeresztesi Alpine Fishing Lake due to the organization of the fishing camp.

On August 9, 2025 (Saturday), due to the association fishing competition on Lake Magyarszecsődi, there will be a general fishing ban from 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for anglers not registered for the competition.

On August 9, 2025 (Saturday), from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., there will be a general ban on fishing on the Lukácsháza side of Lake Abért II due to a fishing competition for anglers not registered for the competition.

On August 10, 2025 (Sunday), from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., there will be a general ban on fishing on Lake Újperinti I due to an association fishing competition for anglers not registered for the competition.

On August 10, 2025 (Sunday), from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. due to a canoe competition on Lake Magyarszecsőd, a general fishing ban will be in effect on the Magyarszecsőd side of the lake, up to the peninsula in the middle of the lake.

On August 16, 2025 (Saturday), from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., there will be a general ban on fishing on the Lukácsháza settlement and Gyöngyös stream side of Lake Abért II due to a fishing competition for anglers not registered for the competition.

On August 16, 2025 (Saturday), from 00:00 to 12:00, there will be a general ban on fishing on Vasvári II Lake (back lake) due to a fishing competition for anglers not registered for the competition.

On August 17, 2025 (Sunday), due to the association fishing competition on Lake Répcelaki, there will be a general fishing ban from 05:30 to 14:00 for anglers not registered for the competition.

On August 24, 2025 (Sunday), due to the children's fishing competition on Lake Répcelaki, there will be a general fishing ban from 05:30 to 14:00 for anglers not registered for the competition.

On August 30, 2025 (Saturday), from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., a general fishing ban will be in effect at the Vaskeresztes Alpine Fishing Lake due to the association fishing competition.

On August 31, 2025 (Sunday), from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., there will be a general ban on fishing on the Lukácsháza settlement and Gyöngyös stream side of Lake Abért II due to a fishing competition for anglers not registered for the competition.
