10,000 pads arrived on Monday
In order to replenish and develop the native fish population of natural waters, our Association strives to purchase fish species provided by fish farmers, available at realistic prices and adapted to the local fish fauna. In this context, we also try to purchase fish with a diverse species composition from several small-scale producers, individual entrepreneurs and family farms, as far as possible.
Due to the extremely low water level in our rivers, we intend to carry out the planned stocking primarily with pre-reared and one-year-old specimens of river fish species. Thus, the stocking of the first-year-old, approximately 7-8 cm, bream arriving from the fish farmer Attila Bognár of Attala on Monday will be followed by the stocking of bream and plum-nosed bream until spring.

The sculpin is an iconic river fish species of the small streams of Vási and the Rába River, which lives in small and large schools in the winding, gravelly sections of the watercourses, in the “sculpin level” named after the species. During its typical feeding, it “carves” the living coating covering the bottom with the horn structure on its hard, lower-positioned mouth.

Of the 10,000 student pads on Monday, 7,500 were placed on several sections of the Rába River, and 2,500 were placed on the upper section of the Pinka River.
We would like to draw the attention of T. Fishing friends to the fact that the minimum size of bream (and chub) that can be kept in waters managed by the Association is 25 cm.

In the case of our rivers, in addition to carp stocking, we also pay special attention to strengthening the population of native, rheophilic - i.e. fish species associated with the river environment.
