On March 20, Fish Day, the Vas County Association of Sport Fishing Associations and the Győr-Moson-Sopron County Association of Sport Fishing Associations prepared a joint program this year. The cooperation of the two organizations has now become a tradition. Year after year, we jointly draw attention to the importance of protecting our natural waters and native fish stocks. On the occasion of this significant day, fish stocking was carried out on the Ikervár and Nick sections of the Rába River, with the aim of strengthening the river fish stock. During the stocking, specifically the current-loving, so-called rheophilic fish species were introduced into the water, thus contributing to maintaining the ecological balance of the Rába. As a conclusion to the program, a visual stocking took place in Nick, in the area of the dam, where visiting children and their companions could actively participate in the stocking of the fish. This year, a total of – 120 kg of two-summer roe, – 1,500 juvenile mullet, and – 1,000 juvenile chub were placed in the Rába section of Vas County.
